You will likely see some of our forest creatures nearby. There is a beaver lodge just on the edge of the lake between the dock and unit. You may see muskrats swimming back and forth, otters cruising by, osprey and swans and a bald eagle that has been making her nest in the treetops just a short distance away. The loons can be spotted on the opposite side of the lake, but you will undoubtedly hear them. Depending on the time of year, you will hear and see many things, from the peeper frogs in the spring, to the fireflies lighting up the forest in mid summer.

guest access

The property is very private and the general public do not have access to any parts of the property. You will be greeted at the gates and shown where to park. (each gazebo has it’s own luggage cart waiting at car park) Access is for the two registered guests only. No outside visitors.

Although we live on the 100 + acre property and we are up the road about a kilometre away, we value and respect the privacy of our guests so you will most likely not see us unless you require assistance from us.

PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable inverter power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and SMALL electrical devices.

***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.

We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other domestic animal would scare them off, fundamentally impacting the nature of the experience for other guests.
