Chaga mushrooms contain polysaccharides that stimulate the immune system. The betulinic acid found in chaga is most noted for normalizing cholesterol levels while serving as an anti-inflammatory agent. Betulinic acid has been studied for its antiproliferative activity on cancer cells. Chaga also has anti-viral effects on the flu and other viruses.
